International Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the websites, games, and digital products provided by Parafield Studios and its subsidiaries, including but not limited to REDTOPS. Parafield Studios is a non-profit organization dedicated to creative development and community projects.
Parafield Studios is run by creators, not lawyers. We have absolutely NO IDEA what we're doing when it comes to legal jargon. This policy is written in plain English because that's all we know. Don't sue us.
1. Terminology and Entities
Throughout these Terms, references to "Parafield", "the Studio", "We", "Us", or "Our" refer to Parafield Studios as an organization and all subsidiaries managed under its direction (including, but not limited to, REDTOPS).
2. Agreement to Terms
By using any service under the Parafield Studios umbrella, you are entering into a binding agreement. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must immediately cease use of our software, websites, and associated services.
3. Scope of Service and Subsidiaries
Parafield Studios acts as a parent organization for several creative entities and subsidiaries. These terms apply globally to all products, games, and community spaces managed by Parafield. As a non-profit organization, our services are provided with the primary goal of community engagement and creative output.
Individual subsidiaries or specific projects may maintain their own supplementary terms or policies. In the event of a conflict between these international terms and a subsidiary's specific policy, the subsidiary-specific terms shall prevail for that specific product or service.
4. Copyright Classifications and Licensing
Parafield uses a multi-tier licensing system to balance open creativity with protected intellectual property. Our assets are classified as follows:
- Games (Standard): All games managed by the Studio that are not explicitly designated as open-source (including but not limited to Codename Combat and Project MDC) are protected by standard copyright law. All rights are reserved, and these titles are classified as N/A for external licensing.
- Music and Creative Assets: Most of our audio and visual creative assets are released under CC BY or CC BY-NC licenses. You are encouraged to use these assets provided you give proper credit to the Studio and the individual creators.
- Open Source Tools: All tools, libraries, and products designated as open-source are released under either the MIT or Apache 2.0 licenses. Refer to individual project repositories for specific license headers.
- Proprietary & Internal Assets: Any internal infrastructure, proprietary codebases, or Studio branding assets are strictly All Rights Reserved and may not be used, modified, or redistributed without express written consent.
5. Health and Safety Warning
A small percentage of individuals may experience epileptic seizures when exposed to certain light patterns or flashing lights. Some of our games and visual projects may contain such elements. For more information, please refer to our Health & Safety page.
Your safety is more important than our silly games.
6. User Conduct and Responsibilities
We expect all users to maintain a standard of conduct that is respectful to both the developers and the wider community. Prohibited actions include engaging in harassment, using exploits or hacks to gain unfair advantages, or attempting to disrupt our infrastructure.
7. Content Creation and Media Policy
We encourage players to create content, including Let's Plays and streams. You are permitted to monetize such content on platforms like YouTube and Twitch, provided that you provide proper credit to the Studio and do not misrepresent our work as your own.
8. Miscellaneous Final Notes
Age Requirements: Our games and community spaces are generally intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have parental or guardian permission to use our services.
Third-Party Services: Our services may link to external sites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services.
No Monetary Value: Any virtual items, currency, or achievements earned within our games have zero real-world monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Service Availability & EOL: As a non-profit entity run by volunteers, we do not guarantee 100% uptime. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any service at any time without notice. However, should a service be discontinued, Parafield is committed to open-sourcing the project to the community if requested by the majority or deemed appropriate for preservation.
9. Limitation of Liability
Parafield provides its services on an "as-is" basis. As a non-profit entity, we make no warranties regarding the stability or availability of our software. Under no circumstances shall Parafield be liable for any damages arising from the use of our products.
10. Modifications and Updates
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our services following an update constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
